CYC Sailing Series

Sailing Saturday.   The final CYC race of the Fall Sailing Series is this Saturday at 10am, Oct. 22 by the green buoy near the dam. Weather is forecast to be sunny at 65 degrees and moderate winds, 7 to 8 out of the south west.  Attached is the cumulative record of the Fall Series with start times listed to the right.  Come join our community of sailors Saturday morning for a couple of hours in a great fall sail.  The sailing season is coming to a close too early. Time for the Annual Seafood Boil!

It is time for the CYC Annual Seafood Boil.  This year this event will take place under the big tent on the Beach at Green Turtle Bay.  The pots will be boiling and offer up the "Low Country" style seafood boil fare of  King Crab Legs, Jumbo Shrimp, Corn on the Cob, New Potatos and Keilbasa Sausage.  Combine these…

Sunfish Volunteers Needed.............

The CYC and Green Turtle Bay offer sailing on Sunfish Sail boat every Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Nick is the only permanent staff member and he needs help every morning and evening getting the boats out and putting them up.  If you can help, please go the beach at 8:30 am or 3:30 PM to help.  

The boats are offered free of charge to all kids and is a great way to promote sailing on Kentucky Lake.

Butch,  Good to hear from you.  I just spent some time becoming a little familiar with the CYC site.  Yes, Karen and I are looking forward to spending a lot of time at the boat this summer.  We have been working on the boat about 1 day every weekend for the last few months.  Looking forward to going out.  We are talking about getting with a group to hread down to Nashville.  Kim said that a group reguarly goes dowbn there at the beginning of August.  We're in!

Yes, I hope we can make it more weekends too this year. No grandbabies are due and no wedding invites as of yet. But we'll be leaving the middle of July again for the Lake of the Ozarks. What have you guys been doing all winter? My Mom died in December, so life here has been pretty hectic.

Work is progressing --albeit slowly-- on the Sunfish.  We have two totally functional hulls and two more that are in progress. Looking forward to weather warm enough to give them a test sail.  Keep your fingers crossed.  :)
