Commonwealth Yacht Club

A place for members to find & share information about the happenings of the CYC

Aww, I love the sounds of summer; songs of frogs, buzzing bees, boats on the water, the wind in our sails, listening to the ocean on a beach, fireworks, bonfires crackling, mosquitos buzzing around our heads-well not so much the mosquitos!!  Whether you’re a land person or water person or both these are just a few reasons we should get outside and enjoy nature this summer.    Your Commonwealth Yacht Club and Green Turtle Bay have scheduled loads of events you can participate in this summer.

First I want to mention the cruise to Barkley Dam.  Cruisers that went on the cruise on June 10 reported having a large time.  Rear Commodore/Long Range Fleet Captain, Danny Cope states:  I want to thank everyone at CYC and GTB for helping make our CYC cruise and overnight stay at Barkley Lodge Marina such a Success!!!  We had beautiful weather and so much fun!!  Great food on the Dock, at the Marina and wonderful dinner at the Lodge!!  Everyone at Barkley Marina and Lodge where fantastic.  I can’t wait for our trip planned to lock through Barkley Dam and cruise to Paducah’s new Port.  We will spend the night and party in down town Paducah!!  A very historic town with so much to see and enjoy!  Hope to plan this trip for late July or August.  Will stay in touch with time and place.  Again, thanks to everyone for a Great Weekend!!
