A place for members to find & share information about the happenings of the CYC
“Golf Handicaps” are helping 18 boats catch up to leaders in the CYC Spring Sailing Series. So far, more than half the sailors have had their starting time moved up from 2 to 4 minutes and at the same time past winners have to wait longer to start. This could shake up the standings as past winners struggle to maintain their lead. The next event is this Saturday morning at 10am. Check the left hand column of the attached results spread sheet for your new individual start time. Each week 6th place and lower boats move up 2 minutes. Current
Accuweather projections are 6 to 16 mph winds from the North West. In the event winds are below 3 knots, boats present will be credited with one participation point. If a race is begun and the wind dies, the Race Director may call the race at 12:30 and award boats their place in the field. In this case, please check with non-motorized dinghy’s near you to see if they need a tow back to port. Hope to see you Saturday.
The Start is a line between the green and red buoys near the Dam at the center of Ky Lake. Boats pass from east to the west across the line to start, and the same east to west direction to finish. The Green buoy is highly favored so boats tend to “round up” at the green buoy making their finish more visible down the course. Check the new attached map by Tim Crowell. Thanks to Tim.
